Foster Care Licensing Supervisor
Wellspring Lutheran Services – a statewide nonprofit dedicated to serving seniors, families and children throughout Michigan.

Position Type:
Full‑Time | Salary

Responsibilities
Provide individual supervision and professional leadership to direct service staff, support staff and student interns (as applicable).
Ensure overall unit compliance with contracts, licensing, accreditation guidelines, agency policy, procedure and strategic plan; complete case reviews quarterly.
Input data per established guidelines into agency and contractor data collection systems.
Handle and coordinate ongoing personnel issues of the unit (leave records, training records, recruitment, interview, reference and orientation for new hires).
Communicate employee performance expectations, conduct new hire six‑month evaluations and annual evaluations; develop performance improvement plans where required.
Coordinate the referral and intake process and make appropriate assignments to staff.
Monitor, read and approve all required reports, including incident reports.
Provide some direct service to clients depending on specific contract language or unit structure.
Qualifications
Master’s degree in social work or related human services field and 3 years of child welfare experience (preferred).
Bachelor’s degree in social work or related human services field and 4 years of child welfare experience (required).
Reliable, responsible and committed to compassionate and high‑quality work.
Strong leadership, communication and organizational skills.
Ability to support and guide staff in a fast‑paced, mission‑driven environment.
Schedule and Compensation
Employment Type: Full‑Time, 40 hours per week.
Salary Range: $50,000–$55,000 per year, based on experience, education and licensure.
On‑Call: Required to support the licensing team’s on‑call rotation.
Work Style: Hybrid, with a flexible schedule including in‑office work and travel to support staff.
