CHC is a non‑profit social service agency in the Akron area whose mission is to treat, inspire, support and empower individuals and families impacted by the disease of addiction. CHC has been a critical part of Ohio’s efforts to treat and prevent substance use disorders since 1974.
We are currently looking for an experienced Practice Manager for our Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC). The Practice Manager oversees the PCP office to ensure efficient delivery of high‑quality behavioral health services. This role manages staff, compliance, financial performance, and operational workflows while supporting the organization’s mission to provide accessible, person‑centered primary care.
Key Responsibilities
Operations & Administration
Oversee day‑to‑day operations, ensuring smooth scheduling, documentation, and service delivery.
Develop and maintain policies, procedures, and workflows consistent with state FQHC regulations and Medicaid requirements.
Ensure compliance with all applicable federal, state, and local laws, including HIPAA and OSHA.
Coordinate with organizational leadership to ensure proper staffing levels and efficient use of resources.
Staff Leadership & Development
Supervise and support medical and non‑medical staff (e.g., medical assistant, nurse, front desk/clerical and scheduling).
Partner with organizational supervisors to facilitate communication between the PCP office and other organizational departments.
Manage onboarding, training, scheduling, and performance evaluations.
Foster a trauma‑informed, inclusive, and team‑oriented work environment.
Financial & Revenue Cycle Management
Manage department budgets, expenses, and financial reporting in conjunction with the Finance Department.
Compliance & Quality Assurance
Maintain compliance with FQHC certification standards, including documentation, credentialing, and staff training requirements.
Oversee audits and corrective action plans.
Support data collection and reporting for quality assurance, outcomes tracking, and grant or contract deliverables.
Proactively identify and lead areas for process and performance improvement.
Technology & EHR Management
Ensure accurate, timely, and compliant documentation within the EHR and other complimentary systems.
Train staff on documentation standards, data entry, and reporting functions.
Support implementation of new technologies to improve service coordination and data accuracy.
Patient Experience & Access
Ensure welcoming, efficient, and confidential service to all clients.
Oversee appointment scheduling, intake processes, and waitlist management to maximize access and reduce barriers to care.
Address and resolve patient complaints or service concerns promptly and professionally.
Ensure efficient coordination of care and results processing.
Qualifications
Registered Nurse preferred (BSN preferred), or Bachelor’s degree in Healthcare Administration, Business Administration, Behavioral Health, or related field (Master’s preferred).
3–5 years of management experience in a FQHC, or PCP office.
Working knowledge of FQHC and/or Medicaid billing, documentation, and compliance standards.
Understanding of behavioral health and trauma‑informed practices preferred.
Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
Proficiency in EHR systems and Microsoft Office Suite.
