Job Description: Provides emotional support and counseling to individuals grieving the loss of a family member. Leads support groups to facilitate discussions and encourage expression of feelings in a safe environment. Contacts and assesses family members of deceased patients to identify their needs and offer support. Offers brief therapy focused on grief issues to help clients develop coping skills and support systems. Informs clients about available community resources to empower them to seek additional support. Provides individual and group support both in-office and in the field for hospice and community clients. Travels as needed to participate in support groups and social activities. Develops and conducts educational programs on bereavement for the community. Oversees volunteer calls and visits to bereaved families and documents these interactions. Prepares and conducts bereavement training programs for volunteers. Participates in interdisciplinary teamwork with healthcare professionals to address the needs of bereaved family members. Engages in community outreach efforts and develops presentations for various audiences. Other duties as assigned.

Pay Range: $49,307.53 - $91,705.34
