Responsibilities
Provide best-in-class guest service: greet guests promptly, respond quickly, and assist with gaming needs.
Support total shopping environment, visual and operational elements, sales initiatives, and guest relationships.
Process guest purchases/returns accurately using POS system.
Respond to comments or questions via phone or in person; elevate unresolved issues to the Store Manager.
Promote GameStop’s guest benefits programs.
Assist the Store Manager with setting service expectations and training staff.
Observe associate performance, provide feedback, and address performance issues.
Enter recognition and performance feedback into Workday / HR system.
Ensure associates complete onboarding, job, and compliance training before shifts.
Collaborate with Store Manager on scheduling and staffing to meet guest service standards.
Approve payroll, enter paid time off, verify store associate pay.
Maintain cleanliness, organization, and merchandising per company guidelines.
Ensure Omni-Channel orders are fulfilled and shipped daily.
Protect assets through inventory control, loss prevention, and bank deposits.
Support team in exceeding sales, profit, and shrink goals.
Perform inventory counts, stock restoration, and product organization.
Reconcile daily business transaction totals accurately; manage closeout paperwork and bank deposits.
Verify shipments for discrepancies, record and communicate issues.
Process defectives, recalls, and stock pulls accurately.
Maintain safety, address hazards, report injuries per guidelines.
Maintain store records/files in organized manner.
Delegate tasks to Sales Associates and Retail Keyholders when Store Manager absent.
Adhere to GameStop policies, procedures, and Code of Standards, Ethics & Conduct.
Follow opening and closing procedures.
Qualifications
Proof of identity and eligibility to work in the United States.
Minimum age 18.
High school diploma or equivalent required; associate’s or accredited bachelor’s degree in business, marketing, merchandising, or related field preferred.
At least 6 months of retail management experience preferred.
At least 2 years of retail sales, guest service, and/or management experience preferred.
Video game knowledge preferred.

Outgoing and welcoming personality with strong people skills.
Provide genuine assistance to every guest.
Clear verbal and written communication; bilingual English/Spanish preferred.
Achieve objectives in fast‑paced, changing environment.
Work independently and within a team.
Meet associate performance expectations (attendance, appearance, safety, respect).
Operate POS computer system.
Basic mathematics and alphabetizing skills.
Complete required paperwork properly.
Follow written, oral or diagram instructions.
Execute financial tasks per company policy.
Work flexible schedule including nights, weekends, holidays; minimum 3 days/week.
Manage pressure and adapt to stressful situations.
Be reliable and trustworthy; use good judgment.
Work alone; stand and move up to 12 hours per day.
Lift merchandise up to 30 lbs; perform basic motor skills.
Understand military ranks and insignia (for military base stores).
Benefits Full‑time store positions at GameStop are eligible to participate in incentive programs, 401(k), paid time off, dental, vision, and health insurance. Positions may also be eligible for a bonus and/or other incentives.
