Primary Talent Partners has a 3‑year contract opening for a part‑time Education Center Lead / Community Education Coordinator to join a large power and utilities client in Seneca, SC.
Pay:
$24.00/hr;
Part‑Time:
24 hours per week, 3 days onsite;
Type:
W‑2, no PTO or benefits (ACA‑compliant supplemental package available).
Responsibilities
Manage day‑to‑day operations of the assigned nuclear education center.
Open and close facilities and maintain presence during scheduled hours to greet guests and answer questions.
Work with Site Services, Security, and local IT to keep the facility clean, landscaped, secure, and in good working order.
Collaborate with Nuclear Communications to recommend IT equipment and materials for presentations and activities.
Suggest content for digital signage to promote education center activities.
Manage center email and public phone line; respond to community questions via phone and email in partnership with Corporate Communications.
Provide educational presentations to groups based on standardized presentations and adjust as needed.
Schedule and organize center groups, prioritizing bookings and activities.
Support key education center events, handling logistics, organizing vendors, and ordering supplies.
Coordinate volunteers for presentations and events with Nuclear Communications and site leadership.
Serve as the single point of contact for pre‑event staging and day‑of logistics.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and relevant experience in teaching, public engagement, communications, museum/science center work, or community outreach.
Strong interpersonal and customer‑service skills for engaging diverse groups.
Comfortable delivering prepared presentations and guiding group visits.
Experience coordinating group activities, events, or educational programs.
Ability to manage facility operations, including opening/closing procedures and coordination with security, IT, and site services.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, PowerPoint) and basic comfort with presentation technology.
Highly reliable, organized, and able to work independently with minimal supervision.
Preferred Qualifications
Prior experience as a teacher, substitute teacher, educator, museum/science center guide, or public presenter.
Experience supporting community events, volunteer coordination, or public‑facing programs.
Familiarity with event logistics, scheduling groups, and coordinating vendors (a plus).
Interest in energy topics, science education, or public engagement (no prior nuclear knowledge required).
