Under general supervision, this Coordinator is responsible for all functions of Credentialing CVS, including credentialing and re-credentialing of medical staff and allied health professionals, managing the credentialing database, and ensuring compliance with JCAHO, CMS, and other regulatory agencies.

Essential Functions of the Role

Confirms correct TSCA application is accurate and complete.

Confirms receipt of appropriate privilege cards and supporting documentation.

Assesses any required fees.

Creates checklist in credentialing software system.

Obtains primary source information via verification software/databases and approved online sites.

Communicates processing questions to practitioners, credentialing contacts, BSWH MSS offices, and CVS leadership.

Sends all status and reminder communications to practitioners.

Mants the daily licensure workload.

Researches and resends returned mail.

Mants data integrity of credentialing and software system according to established policies.

Mants a working knowledge of the medical staff bylaws, rules, policies, and other regulatory requirements.

Coordinates the Credentialing, Re-credentialing, and Clinical Privileging Process of new and reappointment applications in compliance with medical staff bylaws, policies, JCAHO, CMS, etc., and processes confidential medical staff and allied health professional file requests for:

New applications Reappointment applications Staff category changes Resignations/retirements

Performs other duties as required; responsibilities may change as directed by management.

Key Success Factors

Associate's degree or equivalent preferred.

1–3 years of experience in healthcare credentialing/verification.

Knowledge of HealthLine System (Medical Staff Line/Echo) preferred.

Understanding of basic anatomy, physiology, medical terminology, and functions of medical staff services.

Advanced computer skills in word processing, spreadsheets, and databases.
