Shift Details
Full‑time | 40 Hours/Week
7 a.m. – 3:30 p.m.
Weekend and holiday rotations are required; you may be asked to work every weekend when starting.
Flat rate differential: $1/hour for weekend shift and 18% night shift differential when applicable.
In emergency staffing situations, you may be asked to work at Banner Goldfield Medical Center.
Position Summary This position performs all cleaning of patient rooms and/or assigned areas. Works as a member of the environmental service team to ensure the safety, health, and high morale of patients, visitors and staff by providing a clean, safe, and aesthetically pleasing environment with minimal interference to others.
Core Functions
Performs a variety of cleaning tasks, including dusting, mopping, scrubbing, disinfecting, vacuuming and polishing according to departmental policy and procedures. Must plan task completion daily.
Empties hampers, transports soiled linen, empties trash containers and removes all trash. Empties all medical waste containers, including sharps.
Inventories, restocks and replenishes supplies such as toilet tissue, paper towels, hand soap, etc. in all assigned areas.
Maintains cleanliness of departmental equipment, notifies appropriate personnel when repairs are necessary, and protects equipment from damage by proper use. Log out and in equipment used.
May perform special projects such as window washing, wall washing, or removal of heavily soiled items or furnishings.
Responds to questions and requests from patients, staff and visitors. Meets or exceeds goals for customer service satisfaction.
Under regular supervision, the position has responsibility at an assigned facility/area only. Internal customers include facility staff, physicians, nurses, patients, visitors, supervisors, managers and executives. External customers include visitors, patients, and employees from other company and non‑company facilities.
Minimum Qualifications
Ability to work independently and as part of a team without continuous supervision.
Ability to interpret and respond to verbal and written instructions.
Strong verbal and written communication skills, including phone communication.
Ability to read and understand material safety data sheets and instructions for mixing and use of cleaning chemicals; able to fill out chemical identification stickers.
Must complete onboarding in a timely manner; failure to do so may result in offer rescission.
Background check and drug screen are required.

Employees working at Banner Behavioral Health Hospital, BTMC Behavioral, and BUMG, BUMCT, or BUMCS in a behavioral health clinical setting that serves children must possess an Arizona Fingerprint Clearance Card at the time of hire and maintain it throughout employment, as well as an Arizona Criminal History Affidavit signed upon hire.

Preferred Qualifications
Previous related experience and familiarity with environmental services equipment and cleaning techniques.
Additional related education and/or experience is preferred.
