ATC Training Instructional Supervisor – Charlotte ATCT (CLT)
Join SAIC Controller Training Solutions (CTS) as a full‑time Training Instructional Supervisor supporting air traffic controller training services for the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) at the Charlotte ATCT (CLT) in Charlotte, NC.
Responsibilities The Training Instructional Supervisor is a hands‑on position that requires the candidate to effectively and consistently deliver the highest quality classroom and simulation laboratory training to a wide variety of students, including developmental air traffic controllers and certified professional controllers (CPC). The Training Instructional Supervisor is responsible for overseeing and directing the activities of contractor personnel providing support within a particular instructional area under this contract.
Required Qualifications
U.S. Citizenship and the ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust clearance.
Qualifications equivalent to those required of an Instructor within the area of expertise supervised; prior supervisory experience is preferred but not required.
Minimum of five (5) years recent Certified Professional Controller experience controlling live traffic, or recent experience instructing FAA personnel, performed at a similar type and level of ATC facility as the Charlotte ATCT (CLT).
Desired Skills and Experiences
Excellent teaching, classroom management, and student‑focused drive for continuous improvement.
Strong technical skills with current ATC automation, simulation systems, and procedures; mentoring for students and Remote Pilot Operators (RPO).
Knowledge and skills for obtaining radar and/or non‑radar simulation laboratory certifications at FAA air traffic control facilities.
Effective interface with FAA personnel at all levels to meet local facility and FAA mission training needs.
Direct experience as a CPC at the Charlotte ATCT (CLT) is a priority.
Required Education
High School Diploma or Equivalent (GED).
Certified Professional Controller (CPC) certification required.
