Role Description
We are searching for a Staff Water Engineer to support and grow our Water team in Syracuse, NY. This candidate will use their expertise and technical knowledge to deliver design work for water/wastewater clients in New York and across North America. The candidate for this position must have a valid US driver’s license as it will be necessary driving to field sites as needed. Responsibilities
Evaluate, plan, design, and support management of projects for water/wastewater treatment and conveyance (pipelines, treatment, and pumping facilities). Perform fieldwork activities such as site visits, construction inspection, sampling, water quality analyses, asset inventory, flow monitoring set‑up and monitoring, technology evaluations, plant operations information, process troubleshooting and optimization. Support professional engineering services during construction including construction observation, review of shop drawings, responses to request for information (RFI’s), and permit closeouts. Manage tasks as a project resource, completing allocated activities to meet budget, timeframe and quality objectives and meeting or exceeding client expectations. Liaise with Project Managers/Team Leaders and clients to ensure effective communication on project matters; contribute to resolution of technical issues on projects and provide technical guidance to other team members; collaborate with other design disciplines to ensure integrity of the overall design or solution; review completed engineering work to ensure it meets specified standards; further develop understanding of the services delivered by Arcadis, of the client’s business and the industry sector to facilitate personal networking and to develop personal credibility in the industry. Qualifications & Experience
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in an appropriate area of engineering. Minimum 3 years’ of experience in engineering AND EIT Certification. Preferred Qualifications
New York PE License.
