What You Will Do
All Lowe’s associates deliver quality customer service while maintaining a store that is clean, safe, and stocked with the products our customers need.
As a Sales Floor Department Supervisor, you support associates, helping them provide the best service.
Assist with down stocking and area recovery, and provide input into merchandising decisions.
Monitor the use of store power equipment and coach employees on safe behaviors and lifting techniques.
Leverage customer-facing and non-customer-facing activities to deliver a best customer experience.
Supervise associates in other departments as needed.
Communicate with management regarding concerns, issues, praise, and morale.
Occasionally open/close the store or serve as manager‑on‑duty (MOD).
Responsibilities
Coach and train associates, delegate and follow up on daily tasks, manage performance, and ensure adequate department coverage.
Conduct safety walks, report hazards, and understand safety and lifting directions.
Identify approaches and behaviors that meet sales and service objectives and communicate best practices.
Engage and supervise associates across departments to meet store demands.
Travel Requirements This role does not require regular travel; however, occasional travel may be necessary for meetings, trainings, or to support neighboring stores/outlets.
What We’re Looking For
Hourly Full Time: Generally scheduled 39‑40 hours; more hours may be required based on store needs.
Requires morning, afternoon, and evening availability any day of the week.
Physical ability to perform tasks that may require prolonged standing, sitting, and other activities.
Must be able to lift 25 pounds without assistance; may lift over 25 pounds with or without assistance.
Minimum Qualifications
High School Diploma or equivalent and 3 years of retail experience OR 5 years of retail experience.
1 year of customer service experience.
1 year of experience supporting Pro customers (for Pro Department Supervisor).
Experience providing direction or supervision to teams.
Experience supporting or participating in training, mentoring, and developing associates.
Experience working cross‑functionally.
Experience using Microsoft Office Suite.
Ability to obtain sales‑related licensure or registration as required by law.
Preferred Qualifications
3 years of retail customer service experience.
3 years of experience supporting Pro customers.
Experience in a leadership role with direct report responsibility.
Experience in the home improvement retail sector.
Experience in a fast‑paced, dynamic retail environment.
Experience in a key carrying role with manager‑on‑duty responsibilities.
Experience with store computer systems (Project Tool, Genesis, Sterling, M2O, Thin Client, etc.).
