General Description
The Certified Medical Assistant I (CMA), under the direction of a physician, assists in delivering high-quality patient care in an outpatient clinical setting. This role supports providers with patient preparation, clinical documentation, administering medications, taking vital signs, and maintaining accurate medical records.
Key Responsibilities & Skills
Assist physicians during patient examinations and treatments
Prepare and clean exam rooms; disinfect equipment and restock supplies
Escort patients from the waiting area and prepare them for examinations
Collect and document patient histories and clinical data in EMR (Epic preferred)
Measure and record vital signs (BP, temperature, pulse, height, weight)
Perform routine patient testing, EKGs, specimen collection (blood & urine)
Administer medications, injections, and vaccinations (excluding controlled substances) as directed
Monitor and report any adverse patient reactions
Remove sutures and staples; change sterile and non-sterile dressings
Ensure compliance with HIPAA, safety standards, and organizational policies
Certified Medical Assistant (CMA)
from an accredited program (AAMA or AMT)
Minimum 2 years of CMA experience
Valid Driver’s License

BLS Certification (Active)
