Get to Know Your Team Seton Medical Center Harker Heights is an 83‑bed acute care hospital offering services such as Cardiology, Emergency Services and a Level IV Trauma Designated ER, General Surgery, Orthopedic Surgery, Total Joint Replacement, Gastroenterology, Diagnostic Services and more.

Responsibilities

Assist in the delivery of personalized, professional, and quality patient care in the performance of all diagnostic X‑ray examinations and transportation of patients to and from Imaging Services.

Explain diagnostic X‑ray procedures to the patient and/or family member in a thorough and professional manner.

Perform diagnostic X‑ray examinations including routine, fluoroscopic, portable and surgical procedures.

Ascertain appropriate radiographic parameters (e.g., MAS, KVP, positioning) and provide physician with a quality radiographic image.

Document digital images with appropriate radiographic identification markers.

Provide minimal nursing care to the patient, ensuring comfort; seek additional nursing or physician assistance when necessary.

Enter and retrieve patient information from the Picture Archiving Communication System (PACS) and Hospital Information System efficiently.

Prepare and maintain department paperwork, verifying accuracy of information.

Adhere to appropriate radiation safety, practicing the concept of ALARA.

Ensure joint commission, local, state and federal accrediting and licensing bodies’ requirements are met.

Perform quality control on equipment and notify management immediately of any potential malfunction or hazard.

Qualifications Job Requirements

Graduate of an accredited school of Radiologic Technology.

Registered or registry eligible by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) in Radiology (R).

Licensed by the Texas Medical Board as a General Medical Radiologic Technologist (GMRT).

BLS certification obtained within 14 days of hire or transfer into the role and prior to providing direct patient care.

Preferred Job Requirements

Previous employment as a Radiology Technologist.
