responsible for direct and/or indirect patient care.
Job Summary A non‑licensed healthcare provider employed by Erlanger Health Systems is responsible for direct and/or indirect care of patients.
Education Preferred: Certified Nursing Assistant in North Carolina, First Responder, EMT, Nursing student (Fundamentals of Nursing), Medical Assistant, Pre‑Med student, Military Corpsman, Combat Life Saver, Combat Medic, or Surgical Technician. Must meet guidelines, skills, and pay grade outlined for the Patient Care Technician. Former Patient Care Technicians prior to 3‑1‑2004 without these requirements will be grandfathered. Must successfully complete foundations checklist, observed demonstration, and written exam. High School Diploma or equivalent.
Experience Preferred but not required.
Required Qualifications
BLS completed prior to starting and maintained continuously
Preferred Qualifications
CNA certification
EMT
First Responder (if applicable)
Department Position Summary Provide care appropriate to patient age on Med/Surg/ICU. Exercise judgment, recognize signs requiring further evaluation by a licensed nurse. Effectively communicate with customers and team, be flexible and adapt to change.
Location & Hours Erlanger Western Carolina Hospital, Murphy, NC. Regular hours, full‑time, nights.
