Veterinary Assistant
Pay range $17-24/hr DOE
Job Description Summary The Veterinary Assistant supports the veterinarian and veterinary technician team, ensuring the safety of pets, clients, and associates while maintaining the continuity of quality veterinary care.
Qualifications
Certificate of completion from a NAVTA‑approved veterinary assistant program or equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
Ability to perform all required skills of a NAVTA‑approved veterinary assistant program at a level that enhances practice efficiency.
Responsibilities
Help maintain the flow of patients through the hospital.
Communicate with veterinarians and veterinary techs.
Carry out or set up procedures that do not require veterinarian or vet tech assistance.
Adhere to hospital standards that keep pets safe and keep treatment areas, exam rooms and labs clean and organized.
Educate clients about Optimum Wellness Plans® and the importance of preventive care.
Mentor other members of the hospital team.
