About the Role Calling all Audiologists! Join MED-EL in advancing the future of hearing healthcare. We’re seeking a professional who combines clinical expertise and cochlear implant experience with strategic relationship‑building skills to drive growth, deliver meaningful solutions, and strengthen partnerships with leading clinicians and medical professionals.

Primary Responsibilities

Sales and Customer Relationship

Deliver sales goals and maintain budgetary allowances.

Develop valuable relationships with clinicians, all levels of hospital and medical center professionals and other professionals providing services to candidates for and recipients of MED-EL hearing solutions.

Possess professional engagement skills, demonstrate products and services effectively and ask for appropriate commitments with integrity.

Participate in the development of new business which results in sales growth.

With the assistance of the Regional Director and regional teammates identify the key elements in hearing device purchasing decision processes with assigned accounts to intimately know the key decision‑making components.

Under the guidance of the Regional Director support the MED‑EL Finance and Reimbursement departments to improve the financial performance of the region.

Maintain necessary vendor relationship credentials as needed.

Remain current on and abide by relevant state laws and center‑specific vendor relationships policies with Health Care Providers. Identify, acquire and supply most current policies to Risk Management department for addition to server databases.

Account Management

Contribute to the collection and entering of accurate and comprehensive Account and Contact information in the company Customer Relationship Management (CRM) database. This includes maintaining relationship connections, market share data, center visit reports and other data as requested by the CEO, VP of Sales and Regional Director.

Under the direction of the Regional Director, participate with region teammates in establishing and regularly monitoring sales goals for assigned accounts.

Topic Expertise

Demonstrate an understanding of the causes and types of hearing loss, audiologic and otologic evaluation techniques and general treatment options.

Demonstrate competency in the anatomy, etiology of disease, indications and contraindications for cochlear implant and middle‑ear surgery.

Demonstrate competency in all audiological aspects of supporting MED‑EL products, including programming software for all product lines.

Demonstrate general competency on surgical approaches for hearing implants and have a basic working knowledge of surgical differences between competing devices.

Demonstrate competency in supporting difficult programming cases and supporting clinicians and patients through the Complaints handling process.

Demonstrate competency in operating MED‑EL equipment and software for performing intraoperative implant electrical evaluation and basic Auditory Response Telemetry.

Participate in all trainings as determined by Education and Regional Director.

Participate in On‑Call Audiology support.

Maintain close contact with the respective Customer Service and Reimbursement representatives for the region to ensure high quality product and service delivery and support.

At the request of the Regional Director, VP of Sales or CEO, attend national and international conferences and MED‑EL-sponsored events and provide active and effective support and participation as appropriate.

Support Customer Service in the correct ordering and timely delivery of the appropriate devices for surgical cases and/or activations.

Organize appropriate coverage for clinical support when unable to attend appointments.

Provide demonstration and training to surgeons, audiologists and audiology students, and related ancillary professionals on MED‑EL hearing devices and programming protocols.

Complete monthly reports such as regional sales activity and expense reports in a timely manner, by assigned due dates.

Frequent travel in region (greater than 50%). Occasional travel outside region.

Scheduling clinic visits, conferences and meetings attendance.

Making own travel arrangements.

Coordinating travel with teammates, MED‑EL leadership and IBK staff.

Regular reporting writing and CRM database maintenance.

Coordinating product deliveries to clinics.

Regulatory responsibilities: Staying current on company policies and procedures, documenting complaints, following up on complaints, etc.

Position Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree or greater in a field related to hearing disorders, hearing health care, or audiology.

Master's degree or greater in Audiology or equivalent.

Strong written and oral communication skills.

IT literacy required (computer, internet, smartphone, etc.).

Positive team attitude, assisting and supporting other MED‑EL team members.

Courteous and professional behavior during interactions with consumers and professional members or public.

ASHA Certificate of Clinical would be a value add.

Willing to travel – ~50%.

Located in or willing to locate to St. Louis or Kansas City, MO.
