Registered Nurse (RN) - Full-Time
Harbor Point Behavioral Health Center offers intensive residential treatment services within a secure setting. Our programs are designed to meet the needs of youth ages 11-17 who are experiencing emotional, psychiatric and educational difficulties. We also offer specialty programs for youth with more serious challenges. Harbor Point is accredited by The Joint Commission and licensed by the Virginia Department of Behavioral Health and Developmental Services. The facility is TRICARE®-approved and certified.
Responsibilities
Provide nursing care to youth in psychiatric and behavioral health programs.
Assess and document patients’ health status and care needs.
Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to develop and implement treatment plans.
Monitor and manage medications and therapeutic interventions.
Maintain confidentiality of resident information.

Qualifications
Graduation from an approved School of Nursing
Licensed by the Commonwealth of Virginia as a Registered Nurse or have a multi-state license
Prefer experience with children and adolescents in a psychiatric facility or rehabilitation program (new nurses will be considered)
Demonstrates knowledge of risk factors for violence and determining potential for violent acting out and ability to assess suicidal/homicidal ideations
Good verbal and written skills, ability to rotate shifts and programs as necessary, ability to maintain confidentiality of resident information
