Registered Nurse (RN) Ortho Surgery – No Call – No Weekends – Scrub exp preferred Join Ochsner Health as a Registered Nurse in Orthopedic Surgery. This role is a leader in patient care, applying the nursing process within the Nurse Practice Act, ANA Code for Nurses, and Scope & Standards of Practice. Responsibilities include delegating, directing, and supporting licensed and ancillary team members; ensuring quality patient outcomes; respecting cultural, ethnic, and religious diversity; and contributing to the achievement of unit and departmental strategic goals.

Education

Graduate of an accredited nursing school.

Work Experience

Preferred: Bachelor’s degree in nursing.

Required: None.

Certifications

Current registered nurse (RN) license in the state of practice.

Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association.

Preferred: Certification in a clinical specialty area.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.

Effective time‑management skills and the ability to work independently in a fast‑paced environment.

Strong interpersonal, leadership, and delegation skills with sound judgment and supervisory capabilities.

Proficiency in using computers, software, and web‑based applications.

Job Duties

Use the nursing process to deliver patient care.

Assess learning needs and implement teaching strategies for patients, families, and interdisciplinary teams.

Communicate, delegate, and manage nursing team resources while serving as a leader on the interdisciplinary team.

Use data, information, and knowledge to evaluate and promote change for optimal outcomes.

Adapt communication style to the specific patient population and service context.
