Job Summary Provides patient‑focused primary health care services at Redfern Student Health Center. Ensures compliance with the Joint Commission accreditation standards while providing services that are responsive to the needs of university students. Participates in performance improvement teams, committees, and other assigned tasks to support objectives of Student Health Services.
Job Duties
85% – Essential – Primary Care Management: Provides outpatient primary care/gynecologic care/sports medicine for students, care of acute illness or injury for visitors, and worker's compensation care for employees of Clemson University. These services include preventative care, referral to resources within and outside of Student Health Services, and patient education.
15% – Essential – Compliance: Maintains medical records in accordance with the Joint Commission accreditation standards, Student Health Services policies and procedures, and applicable laws.
Minimum Requirements
Education: Doctoral / Professional Degree
Work Experience: 5+ years
Board Certified physician licensed to practice medicine in South Carolina.
Responsibilities JOB KNOWLEDGE
Comprehensive Job Knowledge – comprehensive knowledge of theories and practices and ability to use in complex, difficult and/or unprecedented situations.
Supervisory Responsibilities
Supervises work of others and may offer recommendations for hiring, termination and pay adjustments but does not have responsibility for making these decisions.
Budgetary Responsibilities
No Budget Responsibilities – no fiscal responsibility for the department's budget.

Use hands or feet to operate or handle machinery, equipment, etc.
Position self to accomplish task (e.g., stoop, kneel, crawl)
Communicate, converse, give direction, express oneself
Recognize or inspect visually
Move, transport, raise or lower

Use taste or smell to detect or determine particular flavors or odors
Perceive, observe, clarity of vision
Working Conditions

Exposure to bio‑hazards (i.e., blood, bodily fluids)
Work Schedule Standard Hrs: 15
Compensation Information Salary commensurate with experience. Salary is dependent upon several factors including, but not limited to, a candidate's previous experience, knowledge, skills and performance in accordance with Clemson's compensation guidelines.
Essential Personnel Level Normal Operations. Required to follow emergency facility closure directives, and not normally expected to work on‑site during emergency situations.
