Overview Performs a variety of complex specialized tasks utilizing ultrasound to assist the physician in providing quality care in a medical office setting.
What You Will Do
Ensures correct coding and charging of ultrasound procedures and supplies.
Assists the physicians in the development of new ultrasound techniques and protocols.
Provides for an efficient and respectful patient encounter and thoroughly explains the procedure to the patient so they have a demonstrated understanding of what is going to take place. Acts as a liaison between physician and patient, providing physicians with information to assist with proper diagnosis and treatment modality. Follows physician protocols appropriate for the ultrasound appointment type.
Conscientiously observes policies and procedures to ensure the safety of the patients and adheres to HIPAA regulations.
Evaluates the quality of the ultrasound and determines if any additional films or follow up is necessary. Maintains records of all ultrasounds completed in the office and archives as necessary.
Reports any abnormalities or issues to the physicians and prepares a written summary of findings. Efficiently and accurately utilizes ultrasound techniques to detect abnormalities.
Qualifications Education
Program Graduate, ARDMS approved school/program or registry eligible (Required)
Experience
1 year Ultrasonographer experience preferably in an OBGYN practice (Preferred)
Licenses and Certifications
Certified Ultrasound Technician - Allied Health Upon Hire (Required)
CPR/BLS Certification - American Heart Association/American Red Cross/American Safety and Health Institute (AHA/ARC) Upon Hire (Required)
