Crisis Behavioral Health Clinician (NP) – Willow Health
Willow Health is on a mission to significantly improve mental health crisis care by expanding affordable, high‑quality, evidence‑based intensive behavioral health care. We have built a virtual crisis care program that offers personalized, recovery‑oriented care for people experiencing behavioral health crises. Services include immediate access to virtual crisis psychotherapy, medication management, certified peer coaching, care management, and around‑the‑clock crisis coverage while connecting patients to the next appropriate level of care.
Base Pay Range:
$108,750.00/yr – $192,500.00/yr
The role is fully virtual and seeks a skilled, empathic Nurse Practitioner to provide telehealth evidence‑based behavioral health care, including comprehensive clinical assessments, differential diagnosis, medication management, and collaborative care planning with our multidisciplinary team.
Day‑to‑Day Responsibilities
Perform comprehensive clinical assessments and develop differential diagnoses
Provide psychiatric medication management
Build therapeutic alliances with patients
Create and implement personalized treatment plans with the multidisciplinary team
Manage a caseload of patients over 8 to 12 weeks, providing ongoing medication management
Conduct comprehensive risk assessments and safety planning
Utilize validated clinical tools to aid in differential diagnosis
Facilitate comprehensive behavioral health crisis care across the multidisciplinary team
Participate actively in team meetings
Maintain accurate documentation of all patient‑related care
Engage in clinical supervision
Coordinate care with patients, families, and community providers
Requirements For The Role
Bachelor of Science in Nursing (or equivalent non‑U.S. degree)
Master of Science in Nursing or Doctor of Nursing Practice (or equivalent)
Active New York state license to practice
Compliance with all state licensing and continuing education requirements for behavioral health care
Experience with clinical assessments, differential diagnosis, treatment planning, and psychiatric medication management
At least 2 years of clinical experience in psychiatric medication management
Experience with clinical risk management, suicide risk assessment, and safety planning
Comfort with validated clinical tools and technology
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary team
Experience with electronic medical records
Nice to Have
Post‑degree experience in emergency or urgent behavioral health services
Comprehensive knowledge of substance abuse, mental health, and recovery principles
Experience using clinical outcomes to enhance care
Experience launching or iterating on a clinical care model (preferred)
Experience in a start‑up or innovative healthcare program (preferred)

In compliance with New York City’s Wage Transparency Law, the annual salary range for NYC‑based applicants is provided above. The range reflects potential seniority levels, experience, and clinical scope. Final compensation will be determined based on factors including, but not limited to, years of clinical experience, licensure, relevant specialty expertise, and role level.
For full‑time employees, Willow utilizes an RVU‑based compensation model that aligns earnings with clinical volume and performance. This model includes a guaranteed base salary with the opportunity to earn additional compensation based on productivity metrics. Details of the compensation structure will be shared during the interview process.
