Pay Base pay range: $26.60/hr – $35.98/hr. Actual pay is based on skills and experience; discuss with recruiter.
Department Overview We provide dental care in an advanced specialty program, staff the Russell St. Dental Clinic, and use state‑of‑the‑art technology and an inclusive environment.
Location & Shift OHSU Russell St. Dental Clinic, 214 N. Russell St., Portland, OR 97227. Working shift 7:30 AM – 4:30 PM.
Function/Duties of Position The Dental Assistant Advanced, under the supervision of a licensed dentist, provides chair side assistance to dentists, dental or graduate students, interns and residents, dental hygienists, or dental technicians. May also perform clinical support duties such as appointment scheduling, billing, and maintaining patient records.
Required Qualifications
Completion of an approved Dental Assistant training program AND
Two years' experience as a chair side Dental Assistant in an Advanced Specialty OR
Three years' experience as a chair side Dental Assistant in an Advanced Specialty
Certification by the Oregon State Board of Dentistry for Radiological Proficiency (required)
Advanced specialty dental assisting may require EFDA, EFODA, DAANC, dental anesthesia certification or other sedation/surgical advanced certifications, skills.
Current valid Basic Life Support (BLS) card required issued by the American Heart Association (AHA)
Must have worked as a dental assistant in an advanced specialty within the last 5 years
Must be able to perform the essential functions of the position with or without accommodation
