Job Summary The Registered Nurse coordinates and delivers high quality, patient‑centered care in accordance with the nature and specific requirements of the department, and consistent with the scope and standards of practice for the relevant state and specialty. In collaboration with medical providers and other members of the care team, the RN provides individualized, comprehensive, and compassionate care using established nursing models such as “Assess, Perform, Teach, and Manage.” The RN serves as an advocate for patients, families, caregivers and models a commitment to the organization’s vision, mission, and values to support an unparalleled patient experience and clinical outcomes that contribute to overall departmental performance.

Responsibilities

Assesses patient pain regularly to promote effective pain management, including reassessments after appropriate intervention.

Performs procedures, monitoring, or other functions as ordered by the medical provider(s) and documents the administration of care in the patient medical record in a timely and thorough manner.

Performs exceptional care by responding promptly to patient requests, anticipating patient needs and resolving them proactively.

Teaches patients, families, and caregivers about patient medical condition, status, treatment plan, medications and possible side effects, and follow‑up measures, translating complex medical terminology to ensure complete understanding.

Teaches patients, families, and caregivers about non‑medicinal follow‑up measures such as healthy diet, exercise, disease prevention, and lifestyle changes, and prepares them for future self‑management.

Qualifications

Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) must be obtained within 90 days of employment start date.

Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date.

Non‑Violent Crisis Intervention (NVCI) must be obtained within 90 days of employment start date.

PALS Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) must be obtained within 90 days of employment start date.

Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC) must be obtained within 6 months of employment start date.

Registered Nurse (RN) licensure.

One year of acute care experience.

Associate Degree in Nursing.
