Job Overview Position:

PACU Clinical Coordinator

Employer: Advocate Health Care – Condell Medical Center, Libertyville, IL

Schedule: Monday – Friday, 7:00 a.m. – 3:30 p.m. (Full‑time, 40 hrs) Base Pay: $40.30 / hr – $60.45 / hr Qualifications: BSN required; 2 yrs PACU experience; 1 yr Charge RN experience; ACLS/BLS/PALS certification within 30 days of hire. Benefits: Medical, Dental, Vision, PTO, Tuition Reimbursement

Major Responsibilities

Perform the principal duties and responsibilities of the RN position and serve as a role model for professional practice.

Evaluate environmental safety and provide an environment that is safe based on age and developmental status.

Maintain unit, hospital, and management based competencies.

Demonstrate appropriate psychosocial intervention based on age and developmental status.

Collaborate with the clinical manager to manage patient care delivery, optimizing patient outcomes, customer satisfaction, and resource management.

Support the development of the plan of care through collaboration with the multidisciplinary team.

Oversee staffing and scheduling in collaboration with the manager, assuring cost‑effective methodology.

Participate in interviewing, hiring and competency assessment in conjunction with the clinical manager.

Monitor customer satisfaction, share results with staff, and improve in target areas.

Monitor associate satisfaction and address issues or concerns to assure resolution.

Assume responsibilities in the absence of the clinical manager in conjunction with the director.

Serve as a clinical resource and mentor for staff; take a leadership role in the education of unit staff, house‑wide, and at the system level.

Define, coordinate, implement, monitor and evaluate a unit‑specific orientation program in conjunction with the Center for Education and Development.

Foster ongoing professional development of staff by assisting with performance assessment, identifying needs, and helping individuals set professional goals.

Provide ongoing competency‑based education process for staff.

Promote and model participation in educational opportunities.

Revise clinical practice based on evidence‑based findings, creating evidence‑based policies and procedures.

Implement monitoring systems to evaluate quality and adequacy of patient care, and measures to correct deficiencies.

Participate in short‑ and long‑range planning for the unit with the clinical manager.

Identify topics for and/or assist in the implementation of research processes; provide relevant education at the unit level.

Take a leadership role in achieving unit and hospital regulatory compliance.

Serve as a leader of quality‑improvement teams to evaluate patient safety strategies.

Keep abreast of current standards of care via literature, education events, internal and external resources, and networking.

Participate in activities to enhance professional growth, such as involvement in professional organizations and continuing education.

Licensure Registered Nurse (RN)

Education / Experience

Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing

2 yrs clinical experience in area specialty; 1 yr team‑lead/Charge experience

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

Good time management and organizational skills.

Current licensure in the state of Illinois.

CPR certification.

Physical Requirements & Working Conditions

Function efficiently in a stressful and changing environment.

Resilience and flexibility to adapt to the ever‑changing health‑care environment.

Potential exposure to body fluids, hazardous materials, waste, chemicals, anesthetic gases, life‑threatening diseases, and radiation.

Lift up to 35 lb without assistance; use patient‑handling equipment for larger lifts, typically with at least one other associate.
