Medical Assistant – Radiology (Temporary)

Job Summary The Medical Assistant‑Radiology provides clinical and administrative support for the Pre‑Anesthesia Consultation and work‑up process for Imaging Exams or Procedures. They deliver age‑appropriate patient care for both pediatric and adult patients in the outpatient setting. Responsibilities include preparing patients for exams, obtaining vital signs, assisting with transfers and positioning, maintaining exam rooms, transporting patients, and completing related documentation. They use electronic systems to ensure accurate records, support efficient radiology operations, and maintain a safe, professional environment.
Education and Experience
Completion of a Medical Assistant or Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) program, or completion of School of Nursing fundamentals required, or completion of Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) program. Prior clinic or acute care experience preferred.
Knowledge and Skills
Able to read, write legibly; speak in English with professional quality.
Use computer, printer, and necessary software programs.
Communicate positively, effectively, and professionally with others; assertive and consistent in following policies.
Work calmly, respond courteously under pressure, collaborate, accept direction.
Communicate effectively in English orally, in writing, and on the telephone.
Think critically, work independently with minimal supervision, perform basic math functions.
Manage multiple assignments, prioritise workload, organise, problem‑solve.
Pay close attention to detail; recall information accurately.
Hear sufficiently for general conversation; identify various sounds; see adequately to read computer screens and written documents necessary for positioning.
Licensures and Certifications
Medical Assistant certification, diploma, or Certified Nursing Assistant or other healthcare training certificate required (EMT may be accepted). Exception: completion of School of Nursing fundamentals.
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association.
