RN (PRN) – Kingwood Pines Hospital Location: Kingwood Pines Hospital, a 116‑bed psychiatric and behavioral health facility located about 30 miles northeast of the Houston Medical Center. Hospital provides 24‑hour emergency services and offers intensive outpatient and partial hospital program services for children, adolescents, adults, and chemical dependency patients.

Position Summary The Registered Nurse will provide nursing care for psychiatric patients using the nursing process. Duties include: assess mental health needs, develop nursing diagnoses, identify outcomes, plan and evaluate nursing care; administer medications and treatments; ensure safety and provide milieu management and crisis intervention.

Job Duties / Responsibilities

Provide leadership and direction to licensed vocational nurses, psychiatric technicians, and counselors. Direct milieu management.

Provide assessment of patients’ psychiatric and medical status.

Contribute to treatment plan as a member of an interdisciplinary team.

Document nursing care, treatment, and patients’ response to treatment.

Recognize signs and symptoms of mental health disorders and chemical dependency disorders and apply appropriate treatment interventions.

Qualifications

Graduate of accredited school of nursing (Associate’s Degree) required. BSN preferred.

Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in the State of Texas required.

Minimum of one (1) year related experience required. Psychiatric nursing experience is preferred.

CPR and HWC Crisis Intervention training must be completed prior to beginning work.
