Responsibilities
Coordinate nursing care, including direct patient care, patient/family education, and transitions of care.
Support professional nursing practice across practice settings and across the continuum of care to meet the needs of the patient and family.
Operate within the Mayo Clinic Nursing Professional Practice Model, accounting for planning, implementing, evaluating and communicating all phases of nursing care for assigned patients.
Lead through activities such as preceptor role, informal leadership roles, and quality improvement efforts.
Delegate patient care according to skill level, experience, patient acuity, fiscal accountability, and adequacy of resources.
Apply excellent communication, mentoring, teaching skills, and participate on committees or projects.
May be required to drive personal vehicle as part of the role.
Qualifications
Graduate of a nursing program.
Associate‑degree RNs with a hire date on or after April 1, 2020 must provide evidence of a baccalaureate degree in nursing within five years.
Associate‑degree RNs hired prior to April 1, 2020 must provide evidence of a baccalaureate degree as required at time of hire.
One year of RN experience in an applicable care setting or one year of LPN experience at Mayo Clinic is preferred.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills, team‑oriented, and computer skills required; experience with electronic medical record systems preferred.
Ability to work daytime hours; flexibility may be required to meet staffing needs; ability to adapt to unpredictable situations.
Demonstrated leadership, effective communication, and excellent critical‑thinking skills.
Current RN license in the applicable state. BLS competency requirements vary by region and position.
Additional state licensure(s) and/or specialty certification/training as required by the work area.
This role is eligible for TN sponsorship. Successful sponsorship requires state licensure and completion of VisaScreen or equivalent certification.
Compensation & Schedule Minimum hourly rate is $34.13. Mayo Clinic’s nursing compensation model rewards experience, education, and dedication. When combined with our competitive tuition reimbursement program, the compensation approach empowers nurses to grow professionally and maximize earning potential.
Schedule: Part‑time, Monday‑Friday 8‑hour shifts; start times between 0630‑0800. No overnight, weekend, or holiday call.
