Katie's Way Katie’s Way seeks a dedicated and compassionate Psychiatrist (MD) to join our multidisciplinary mental health team, committed to expanding outreach and saving lives through innovative, multi-tiered mental healthcare services. In this role, the Psychiatrist will provide expert psychiatric care, including evaluation, diagnosis, treatment planning, and medication management for patients with mental health conditions. The position involves collaborating with therapists, case managers, and other healthcare professionals to deliver comprehensive care. Key Responsibilities
Patient Care
Conduct thorough psychiatric evaluations, including detailed patient history and mental status examinations. Diagnose and treat a variety of mental health disorders such as depression, anxiety, bipolar disorder, PTSD, and schizophrenia. Develop and implement individualized treatment plans. Prescribe, monitor, and adjust medications as needed. Have experience with TMS or be open to performing Dtms.
Collaboration
Work closely with therapists, social workers, and other healthcare providers to coordinate care. Participate in team meetings and case consultations.
Documentation and Compliance
Maintain accurate and timely patient records in compliance with HIPAA and clinic policies. Document treatment plans, progress notes, and medication changes in the clinic’s Electronic Health Record (EHR) system.
Education and Support
Provide psychoeducation to patients and their families about diagnoses, treatment options, and medication usage. Support patients in developing coping strategies and improving overall mental health.
Quality Improvement
Stay updated on advancements in psychiatry and mental health treatment. Contribute to developing and enhancing clinic policies, programs, and services.
Qualifications
Required Education and Licensure
Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Osteopathy (DO) degree. Board-certified or board-eligible in Psychiatry. Active and unrestricted medical license in Kansas. DEA certification for prescribing controlled substances.
Experience
Experience working in a mental health clinic, community health center, or similar setting (preferred).
Skills and Competencies
Strong knowledge of psychiatric medications and evidence-based treatment modalities. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary team. Proficiency in using EHR systems.
Work Environment
