About The Position The Licensed Practical / Vocational Nurse is responsible for enhancing the overall Resident and family experience through the provision of nursing care and leadership required to ensure the health and well‑being of residents who depend on Grand Living for assistance. In addition to providing direct care and administering medications to residents who have orders from an attending physician, the LPN is responsible for evaluating and supervising assigned nursing personnel, assisted living aides, and medication aides through orientation, education, teaching and supervision via frequent rounding. This is to be handled in the Sterling Touch® friendly, courteous, helpful, timely and professional manner in all interactions, resulting in a very high level of Resident and team member satisfaction. The position is under the general guidance of the Director of Health and Wellness in accordance with community standards, processes, procedures, practices, and philosophy.
Qualifications And Requirements
Associate’s Degree in Nursing, required.
Three or more years’ nursing experience, preferred.
Assisted living or home health care experience, preferred.
Licensed Practical/Vocational Nurse in the state of employment, required.
Ability to obtain any government‑required license or certificate.
Ability to read, write and understand English to educate, train and supervise staff; meet with residents and families to facilitate assessments and development of personalized care plans; utilize and train others on operational software for care documentation; and communicate effectively with other employees.
Knowledgeable of resident rights and ensures an atmosphere that allows privacy, dignity and well‑being of all residents in a safe, secure environment.
Ability to stand, walk, climb stairs, crouch, bend, stoop, reach, grasp, push, pull and work continuously without sitting for extended periods.
Ability to lift or carry up to thirty (30) pounds.
