The Child Center of NY strengthens children and families in underserved communities with skills, opportunities, and emotional support. Founded in 1953, the organization operates 50 locations and offers 100 programs to more than 40,000 children and families each year.
Summary
The Program Coordinator is responsible for developing policy and procedures for the program, assigning work, communicating productivity expectations, and monitoring program costs to ensure budget compliance.
Essential Functions
Ensure staff are appropriately recruited and trained to meet program requirements.
Ensure program productivity goals are met efficiently and effectively.
Participate in program planning, identify gaps in services and programs, and make recommendations to meet community needs.
Create/update program documents and forms.
Publicize program and act as representative to internal and external stakeholders.
Address special needs of each group served, including reasonable accommodations for the hearing impaired, physically challenged, or other disabilities.
Perform other related duties as assigned.
Supervisory Responsibilities
Manage overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of the Program/Department, including interviewing, hiring, planning, assigning work, rewarding, disciplining employees, conducting performance reviews, and addressing complaints.

12pm-8pm Monday-Friday

Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree in Social Work, Education, or related field.
Bilingual in Spanish, Mandarin, Cantonese, Bengali, or other languages as required.
2 years of experience running a school-based program.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
Ability to plan and carry out assignments independently.
Ability to prioritize, adhere to timelines, and multi-task.
Qualifications Preferred
Master’s Degree in Education, Social Work, or related field.
