Job Overview Wolfoods operates summer camp kitchens across the country between May and September. We are seeking experienced, motivated Kitchen Managers / Head Chefs to lead our seasonal staff. This hands‑on, demanding position requires on‑site accommodation.

Key Responsibilities

Lead all aspects of the food service operation to meet high levels of diner satisfaction and compliance with camp standards.

Create effective staff schedules and coordinate side work.

Maintain cleanliness, organization, and appearance standards in the dining hall.

Monitor and observe all phases of the dining hall operation during meal periods.

Work with the head chef to ensure high standards of food presentation and sanitation.

Train and develop front‑of‑house dining personnel.

Provide ongoing feedback to service staff regarding performance and standards.

Communicate daily with the head chef and camp directors regarding dining hall operations.

Prepare for and facilitate all meal periods, ensuring proper timing, quantity, and quality of food.

Implement a check‑list system for daily kitchen activities.

Follow company environmental initiatives to minimize waste.

Control inventory, place orders, and manage kitchen supplies.

Maintain health department sanitation standards and safety practices.

Stay current with food safety, especially for special diet preparation and allergy control.

Attend related training, staff meetings, and in‑service sessions.

Actively lead in planning, scheduling, directing, and training kitchen staff.

Qualifications & Experience

4+ years of commercial kitchen experience.

Minimum three professional references required.

Proficiency in the skills required for the role.

Ability to self‑motivate and lead a team while taking direction.

Must live on‑site in a rural setting with potential shared living spaces.

Work under pressure in temperature extremes (above/below average).

Stand for long periods of time and lift a minimum of 50 pounds.

Remain flexible to bend, stretch, and reach for extended periods.

Hold ServSafe Allergens certification before the start of camp (company sponsored).

Minimum 70‑hour work week (6 days).

Cook from scratch and possess institutional/batch cooking experience.
