Job Summary As part of Cristo Rey Jesuit High School’s founding faculty, you will educate students in mind and spirit. Through engaging, data‑driven instruction you’ll prepare students for college and the Corporate Work Study Program while fostering critical thinking, communication, and character.
Responsibilities Instructional Practice
Develop data‑driven annual, unit, and lesson plans aligned with Common‑Core standards and benchmarks.
Design & administer interim assessments, analyze results, and collaborate on instructional responses.
Deliver rigorous, engaging lessons that monitor student understanding, use technology, provide reading rigor, and integrate character instruction.
Build individual relationships with students, communicate frequently with parents, and cultivate a caring classroom culture.
Uphold school‑wide behavior practices aligned with respect, support, and high expectations.
Maintain an organized and welcoming classroom environment while managing time effectively.
Professional Presence
Engage in ongoing professional development and apply feedback to improve teaching.
Collaboratively analyze data, identify student needs, and problem‑solve challenges.
Contribute to team goals, celebrate peer achievements, and foster trust.
Engage students and parents with respect, fairness, and empathy.
Model Catholic, Jesuit values and service to others.
School Leadership
Lead or support core, supplementary roles such as Campus Minister or Academic Assistance Program coordinator.
Provide tutoring or manage a study hall.
Monitor transitions, meals, and other common times; chaperone school events.
Run an advisory book club & serve as point of contact for advisees’ parents.
Volunteer for coaching, club management, or school‑wide events.
Qualifications Successful applicants will embody the mission and exhibit intellectual curiosity, openness to growth, optimism, and zest.
Three‑year degree in the primary teaching discipline (master’s preferred).
Teaching license in the discipline or demonstrable progress toward licensure.
Record of strong student achievement as a middle or high school teacher.
Proficiency with technology to enhance instruction.
Experience with English language learners is a plus.
