Base pay range
$16.90/hr - $21.00/hr
Position Summary Assist the store manager with daily tasks and act as the supervisor for the location in the absence of the store manager.
Maximize the financial performance of the store and help the store manager achieve growth and sales targets by successfully managing and motivating the sales team.
Create an emotional connection between Fred Meyer Jewelers and our customers through engagement and communication during every shopping occasion, both in store and online.
Achieve personal sales targets and demonstrate the company's core values of respect, honesty, integrity, diversity, inclusion, and the safety of self and others.
Desired Previous Job Experience
Knowledge of Fred Meyer Jewelers policies and procedures
Management experience
Proficiency with Microsoft Outlook, First Place, Act, and Intranet
Experience directing and participating on project teams
Minimum Position Qualifications / Education
High school diploma or GED plus a minimum of 6 months Fred Meyer experience and 1 year of jewelry sales experience; or a combination of relevant education and experience
Minimum 18 years of age
Ability to pass a drug test
Maintain confidentiality
Accuracy and attention to detail
Ability to organize and prioritize tasks and projects
Completed Diamond Council of America (DCA) courses within one year of hire
Essential Job Functions
Model Customer 1st behavior and encourage associates to deliver excellent customer service.
Maintain profitability of the location through sales and proper shrink and expense control.
Achieve personal sales targets by turning customers' life moments into celebrations with an approachable, special, lasting jewelry experience.
Support the store manager in training and development of sales professionals and in onboarding of new team members.
Encourage personal targets that drive sales of credit applications, protection plans, and Diamond Design Parties.
Foster lifelong emotional connections with customers through clienteling.
Support coordination of operations functions.
Display merchandise and promotional materials in accordance with corporate merchandising plans.
Advise customers on the quality, cuts, and value of jewelry and gems and assist in selecting mounts and settings.
Provide product knowledge, features, and benefits to customers when presenting merchandise.
Estimate repairs and inspect/clean customer jewelry.
Perform watch battery replacements and band adjustments.
Suggest designs for custom jewelry.
Follow receiving and processing procedures.
Maintain overstock/understock conditions to retain ordering system integrity.
Maintain daily/weekly sales and take appropriate action.
Respond to customer comments and complaints.
Complete customer incident and associate incident/accident reports.
Participate in inventory processes and complete case counts.
Assist with and process time and attendance.
Develop staff scheduling and enter weekly work schedules for associates.
Assist with special maintenance arrangements for the location.
Maintain flexibility to work any shift, including holidays and overtime.
Travel to other store locations to provide back‑up coverage on an occasional basis.
