Job Title
AST, ASO or Full Professor positions in Biostatistics or Epidemiology under the Neuroscience Initiative, University of Florida.
Overview The University of Florida (UF) is seeking up to three full‑time, 12‑month tenured or tenure‑track faculty to serve as neuroscience principal investigators and collaborators. Candidates will work in either the Department of Biostatistics or the Department of Epidemiology within the College of Public Health and Health Professions and the College of Medicine. UF’s Neuroscience Initiative spans multiple institutes and centers, providing a robust collaborative infrastructure for multidisciplinary research.
Responsibilities
Lead and conduct externally funded research as a principal investigator, focusing on epidemiological or clinical studies in neurosciences (e.g., genetics of Alzheimer’s disease, neuroimaging analysis, genomic integration, and neurorehabilitation).
Teach courses in biostatistics and/or epidemiology, and support the MS and PhD programs as well as the MPH concentration.
Provide student mentorship, committee service, and contribute to the broader academic community.
Collaborate with affiliates such as the McKnight Brain Institute, the 1Florida Alzheimer’s Disease Research Center, and others, leveraging shared resources and expertise.
Minimum Requirements
Doctoral degree in biostatistics, epidemiology, or a closely related field.
Preferred Qualifications
For senior hires: a record of academic accomplishments, scholarly recognition, external research support, and leadership responsibilities that warrant appointment at the rank of professor or associate professor.
For assistant‑professor level: demonstrated potential to develop such a record.
Experience in multidisciplinary neuroscience research and collaborative grant development is strongly desired.
