Overview
Safety Specialists work closely with field staff, clients, subcontractors and personnel from external organizations during all phases of electric construction projects. The position is location‑based, encompassing worksites throughout the assigned project area and requires varying amounts of travel.

Essential Functions
Perform ongoing site visits to observe and document safety behaviors and work conditions to ensure a safety focus throughout all phases of electric construction projects.
Coordinate with Operations teams to create site‑specific safety plans and actively participate in safety meetings to review job hazard analysis and hazard recognition tools.
Participate in project kick‑off and progress meetings.
Support client‑specific safety requirements programs and ensure alignment and compliance between client expectations, company rules and applicable safety regulations.
Ensure compliance with local, state and federal regulations pertaining to environmental protection or occupational health and safety.
Coach and mentor project site personnel regarding safety practices and behaviors on an ongoing basis.
Conduct proactive behavior‑based and quality‑focused field safety observations and PPE hazard assessments.
Partner with Safety, Safety Training & Operations teams to schedule or facilitate required employee trainings (New hire orientation, OSHA ETD Quarterly refresher training, Customer required training, Post‑incident training as part of a Corrective Action Plan, and Participate in site‑specific safety planning).
Conduct accident/injury investigations including root cause analyses.
Provide support to Operations organization for incident case management and documentation steps.
Follow‑up with Operations organization to ensure completion of corrective actions for all accidents and incidents.
Support company safety committees by assisting in assessment of safety performance trends, implementing process, and tool improvements.
Regular and predictable attendance.
Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Minimum 2 years of experience in environmental, health and safety (EHS) field roles.
High school diploma or GED equivalent.
Minimum of one (1) safety certification preferred (e.g., Certified Safety and Health Official (CSHO), Construction Health and Safety Technician (CHST), Safety Management Specialist (SMS), Specialist in Safety and Health (SSH), or Certified Safety Professional (CSP)).
Undergraduate degree in Safety Management or related field preferred; combination of relevant experience and education considered in lieu of degree.
Problem‑solving and situation analysis skills.
Proficiency with MS Office Suite programs (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
Effective verbal and written communication skills with ability to influence behavior.
Strong knowledge and understanding of OSHA and other industry‑related safety regulations.
Team player able to work with co‑workers, different departments and outside contacts and maintain strong relationships.
Attentiveness to details, organizational skills, ability to work independently.
Basic understanding of electric construction project management practices and procedures.
Ability to travel for job site visits for extended periods of time.
Compensation & Benefits
Salary $75,000–$90,000 per year (commensurate with experience; posted weekly).
