Assignments Teaching assignment may be at Valencia or Canyon Country campus, or other college teaching locations. Part‑time faculty positions do not accrue tenure rights. Part‑time positions offer flexible hours and the opportunity to assist a diverse group of students in achieving their educational goals. Position may include Monday through Friday (day and evening), as well as Saturday classes.
Qualifications
Unexpired California Community College Instructor Credential in the discipline OR
Bachelor’s degree major related to subject taught, AND either: Thirty hours or two semester units of coursework in understanding the needs of the older adult taken at an accredited institution. Can be completed concurrently during first year of employment.
One year of professional experience working with older adults.
Associate degree major related to subject taught; two years of occupational experience related to subject; sixty hours or four semester units of coursework on understanding needs of older adult. Can be completed concurrently during first year of employment.
Any bachelor’s degree and two years of occupational experience related to subject OR
Any associate degree and six years of occupational experience related to subject OR
Possession of a full‑time, clear California Designated Subjects Adult Education Teaching Credential authorizing instruction in subject matter.
