Position Overview The CMM Technician {D} role is part of the Metrology team responsible for measuring precision optics and optical assemblies. The position exposes the candidate to spatial metrology tools such as large and medium bridge type Coordinate Measuring Machines, Laser Trackers, Portable Arms, and other emerging technologies. It provides hands‑on experience with unique and challenging optical systems and collaboration with world‑class technicians and engineers.

Responsibilities

Measure optics in accordance with manufacturing documentation, process documentation and technical requirements under the guidance of the Group Leader

Ensure safe handling of in‑process and deliverable hardware

Comply with standard work requirements

Support full compliance with Environmental, Health and Safety requirements

Travel Requirements: Minimal

Required Qualifications

HS Diploma

2–3 years of experience in a manufacturing environment including working knowledge of blueprints, tolerances, and GD&T

CMM operating experience, preferably on a Zeiss using Calypso

Ability to work safely on sensitive, high‑value deliverables and equipment

Working knowledge of manufacturing standards and practices

Ability to follow manufacturing instructions in the production of optics and optical assemblies

Flexibility and a desire to work on a variety of manufacturing processes

Strong team player

Excellent written and verbal communication skills

The ability to obtain and maintain a TS/SCI U.S. Government Security Clearance

Preferred Qualifications

Familiarity with SpatialAnalyzer is a plus

Familiarity or expertise with machinery and optical manufacturing equipment

Active TS/SCI U.S. Government Security Clearance

EHS/Environmental Requirements The employee must communicate, listen to, and interpret instructions, occasionally operate tools and machinery with hands and arms, remain stationary for extended periods, use protective equipment with chemicals, move between workstations, reach, and replace equipment, and move items weighing up to 25 lb. ITC & Security Clearance Requirements This position requires U.S. citizenship. Dual citizens must obtain company approval before access. The employee must obtain and maintain a TS/SCI U.S. Government Security Clearance. Employment will not begin until this approval is obtained.
