Judicial Administrative Specialist – Cobb County Fire and Emergency Services Provide specialized administrative and clerical support to an assigned judicial office.

Essential Functions

Develop and oversee employee work schedules to ensure adequate courtroom coverage and control; act as liaison between employees and management; train staff in operations, policies, and procedures.

Manage daily operations of assigned judge's office to facilitate proper court administration: assist judge with legal documents and research; prepare and maintain calendars; coordinate with Jury Administrator for calling jurors; coordinate with Sheriff's office for inmate attendance; make accommodations for media when necessary; assist judge, attorneys, internal and external customers with courtroom proceedings as needed.

Coordinate judge's schedule: schedule cases for trial; create, maintain and distribute calendar; verify holidays and include trials, motions and hearings; email notices for calendar changes; interact with parties regarding scheduling issues or conflicts; appear in court for arraignment and calendar call.

Serve as liaison between judge and attorneys, staff, litigants, other departments/agencies, and the general public: provide information regarding court calendars and proceedings; respond to mail, email and phone calls; maintain high visibility and confidentiality.

Perform other related duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

High School Diploma or GED, supplemented by vocational or technical training in administrative technology.

Five years of experience providing administrative and clerical support in a legal environment.

Preferred Qualifications

Direct experience in a court environment, particularly with criminal cases.

Physical Abilities Tasks require the ability to exert light physical effort, including lifting, carrying, pushing and/or pulling objects of light weight (5-10 pounds). Tasks may involve extended periods at a keyboard or workstation.

Sensory Requirements Ability to communicate orally.

Environmental Factors Essential functions are regularly performed without exposure to adverse environmental conditions.
