Johnson Brothers and Maverick Beverage Company are now one company. The Key Account Manager will develop and expand wine sales within the assigned territory by acquiring new business accounts and maintaining a high standard of service to key accounts.
Responsibilities
Personally call on accounts in the assigned territory to promote the portfolio.
Prospect and open new accounts.
Anticipate and evaluate customer needs and recommend products accordingly.
Develop sales and product knowledge to educate and taste accounts on products.
Regularly meet and exceed sales goals and quotas.
Use strong business acumen to protect the interests of Johnson Brothers, suppliers, and customers.
Manage time effectively to meet order deadlines and delivery dates/cutoffs.
Communicate professionally with buyers to resolve issues in a timely manner.
Demonstrate leadership and entrepreneurial qualities.
Attend and participate in regular team sales meetings.
Comfortably speak publicly about products, events, or at staff trainings and promotional events.
Maintain a clean driving record and a current, valid state driver’s license.
Possess wine knowledge, distribution and sales experience (highly preferred).
Ensure accounts are current on payments and assist in collecting payments when necessary.
Organize supplier market work and communicate effectively with suppliers before, during, and after market work.
Treat all employees, management, vendors and customers with respect at all times.
Respond to buyer requests and inquiries with urgency and timeliness.
Be prepared for night and weekend promotions and account activities.
Travel within the assigned geographic areas as required.
Maintain reliable transportation and meet company driving record and insurance requirements.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
High School Diploma required.
Bachelor’s Degree preferred; equivalent education and experience may be considered.
Strong persuasive presentation skills, ability to speak before large audiences.
Strong computer skills and proficiency with Microsoft Office.
Background or experience in the beverage or restaurant/bar industry a plus.
Knowledge of the alcoholic beverage industry, including wine and spirits terms and production processes.
Passion for wine and spirits with a continuous learning mindset.
Physical ability to lift 25–50 lbs regularly.
Valid driver’s license and an acceptable driving record, plus auto insurance coverage meeting company and state requirements.
Age 21 or older at the time of employment to sell alcohol in Texas.
Demonstrate courtesy, respect, and professionalism to coworkers and customers.
