Cell Therapy Specialist – Part Time Location: Aurora Health Care

Base pay: $28.05/hr – $42.10/hr

Responsibilities

Perform high complexity cell processing and testing (flow cytometry, cryopreservation, plasma/red blood cell depletion, cell separation, thawing, etc.) of clinical cell therapy products.

Analyze results to determine product acceptability for distribution.

Identify, evaluate, and troubleshoot problems related to product preparation and appropriately document and report deviations, including developing and executing corrective and preventative action plans.

Lead continuous improvement projects to enhance quality and efficiency of laboratory procedures, policies and processes. Write new and edit current technical procedures and laboratory policies.

Adhere to all applicable good manufacturing practices/good tissue practices and regulatory standards to maintain accreditation (Foundation for the Accreditation of Cellular Therapy). Maintain accurate records of all cell process and testing procedures according to good documentation practices.

Directly responsible for validation of processes and equipment.

Perform routine laboratory maintenance including cleaning, stocking, maintaining equipment, and transporting liquid nitrogen, as needed.

Licensure, Registration, And/or Certification Required

None Required.

Education Required

Bachelor's Degree in Biology

Bachelor's Degree in Chemistry or related field.

Experience Required

Typically requires 3 years of laboratory experience including pipetting.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Required

Proficient in aseptic technique and pipetting.

Willingness to work a flexible schedule, which may include nights and weekends.

Maintains knowledge of regulations and standards to ensure compliance with regulatory bodies.

Proficient in the use of laboratory computer systems.

Maintains current knowledge of and complies with contents of all applicable policies and procedures.

Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills.

Ability to handle stressful situations in a calm and professional manner.

Physical Requirements And Working Conditions

Must be able to sit for extended periods of time as well as stand and walk throughout each workday.

Must be able to stand, walk, lift (approximately 40 lbs.), squat, bend, twist, kneel, and reach above shoulders at various times in each workday.

Ability to work some evening and weekend hours to accommodate patient treatment schedules and/or research lab needs.

Capable of using the hands for fine manipulation required for performing measuring/pipetting, operating laboratory and computer equipment.

Functional vision, speech, smell, touch, and hearing.

May be exposed to mechanical, electrical, chemical, biological, and radioactive hazards; therefore personal protective equipment must be worn as necessary.

May come in contact with animals/dander in some laboratories; therefore should not have allergies to animals/dander.

Operates all equipment necessary to perform the job.
