Base pay range: $38.00/hr – $38.00/hr
Position Summary The CCBHC Mobile Crisis RN will be part of a 24‑hour crisis stabilization hub that includes enhanced 24‑hour crisis services and a mobile crisis unit. The RN will provide physical and mental health care primarily in the Crisis Diversion Center while also being flexible to other locations such as Vigo County Outpatient or Inpatient Unit. The RN functions as a member of the interdisciplinary treatment team, in which patient care is prescribed.
Essential Duties/Responsibilities
Conduct and monitor the nursing process (assessment, planning, implementation, evaluation)
Conduct admission assessments and reassessments according to policy and standards of care
Follow admission and discharge procedures
Work closely with law enforcement and community agencies to reduce the risk of emergency room and psychiatric hospitalization
Serve as a member of the Mobile Crisis team (Crisis Diversion Specialists, on‑call therapists, medical team)
Assist in connecting individuals to appropriate levels of care after stabilization
Obtain and transcribe licensed independent practitioner (LIP) orders for inpatient admission
Participate as a member of the interdisciplinary team
Document in the patient’s record according to policy and procedure
Assist in identifying patient and family educational needs and provide teaching, especially related to physical issues
Provide daily information at shift change and treatment review/discharge meetings
Participate in continuous quality improvement activities as assigned
Complete safety plans and internal referrals after crisis stabilization
Implement crisis intervention techniques in emergency situations
Provide crisis assessments under supervision of the on‑call psychiatrist
Serve as a resource to Hamilton Center staff and community regarding available services, referral sources, and emergency detention procedures
Participate in cross‑training as assigned
Demonstrate competent use of the Electronic Medical Record
Answer inquiring phone calls, respond to requests for information/referral sources, and route calls appropriately
Review referrals from outside agencies for HCI’s inpatient unit and follow on‑call provider orders
Maintain high ethical conduct regarding confidentiality, dual relationships, and professional stature
Keep supervisor informed of potential crisis situations
Maintain basic computer skills in order to access client information or update records
Perform other duties as assigned

Maintain confidentiality in accordance with established policy and procedures
Maintain professional staff membership
Participate in unit staff meetings and continuing education activities to update current knowledge in nursing
Perform other duties as assigned
Minimum Qualifications and Requirements
Knowledge and skills in nursing care, psychiatric illnesses, interpersonal dynamics, nursing process, assessment skills, treatment planning, case management, basic pharmacology, medication administration, routine medical equipment operation, crisis intervention techniques, and emergency care
Good written and verbal skills, record keeping, time management, and interviewing skills
Good interpersonal and communication skills, and the ability to function as a team member
Certificates, Licenses, and Registrations
Valid driver’s license in accordance with HCI motor vehicle policy
Licensed by the State of Indiana as a Registered Nurse
Maintain current and active RN license without lapse
Maintain American Red Cross CPR/First Aid/AED certification
Maintain Crisis Prevention Intervention (CPI) certification
Maintain TB screening certification
