$83,000 - $95,000, depending on experience
General Summary
The MDS Coordinator is an RN who is responsible for the overall supervision, coordination, maintenance and timely completion of the MDS, care plans and CAA’s for residents. The MDS Coordinator acts as the Restorative Nurse and develops and maintains restorative programming.

Essential Job Duties Coordinate and assist with completion and submission of interdisciplinary team, accurate and timely MDS assessments, CAAs, and care plans per CMS RAI Manual regulations.
Provide education to direct care associates regarding updates or changes to the CMS RAI Manual or skilled nursing facility regulations that affect documentation.
Assist with review of the interdisciplinary comprehensive care plan.
Review final validation reports and attest that all assessments have been completed and accepted into the CMSQIES system prior to billing and notify the business office when assessments are not ready to bill.
Review CMS reports to identify assessments completed or submitted late and develop systems and processes to prevent recurrence.
Update care plans daily following events, new physician orders, or changes of condition.
Ensure effective communication with other shifts and departments regarding medical record documentation.
Qualifications RN currently licensed by the State of Illinois.
Current CPR certification and in-depth experience and knowledge working with MDS computer software.
Experience with the MDS transmittal process and understanding of regulations impacting the MDS; supervisory experience preferred.
AANAC RAC-CT/A certification, or willingness to obtain within 3 months of hire.
Restorative Nursing Certification, or willingness to obtain within 3 months of hire.
