Medical Assistant Job Summary Performs selected medical assistant and clerical duties that assist in care for clinic patients following established standards, practices, and competency. Works collaboratively with other clinic staff to solve practice‑related problems. Demonstrates knowledge of principles of growth and development and possesses ability to respond to specific issues and data reflective of patient/customer status. Demonstrates knowledge and skills necessary to provide care for the population served in the department.

RN Job Summary Responsible for providing professional nursing care to patients and families. Communicates with physicians as well as other healthcare team members to provide excellent patient care.

A Brief Overview Provides delivery of professional nursing care under the direction of the provider.

What you will do

Perform general nursing care to patients. Administer prescribed medications and treatments in accordance with nursing standards. Coordinate the patient care activities for the clinic.

Prepare equipment and assist provider during procedures, treatments, examinations, and testing of patients.

Observe, record, and report patient’s condition and reactions to drugs and treatments to provider.

Oversee appointment scheduling and ensure preferences are given to patients in emergency situations. Maintain timely flow of patients.

Greet patients and prepare them for physical examination. Screen patients for appropriate information including obtaining the health history, and taking vitals. Document obtained information in patient chart. Instruct patient in collection of samples and tests.

Respond to patient phone calls in a timely manner with appropriate input from the physician.

Educate patients and families about diagnostic process, medications, nutrition, and maintenance of health and wellness.

Suggest solutions to patient care crisis problems and complaints.

Maintain exam rooms with necessary supplies and materials. Ensure cleanliness. Prepare list of medical supplies needed.

Assure appropriate labeling of pathology specimens according to lab protocol as needed. Perform quality control and maintain records on all lab testing.

Required Education, License/Certification, or Work Experience

Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) – Board of Nursing – An active license in the state of practice upon hire.
