Overview The

IEP Coordinator

will work closely with the Director and resource team to coordinate and evaluate the educational program. The Instructional Specialist will act as a mentor and resource to the classroom staff and work closely with all departments on implementing the educational programs. In conjunction with the school Director, this position will be a key player in recruiting, interviewing, selecting, and overseeing the onboarding of new staff.

Responsibilities

Work closely with classroom staff to coordinate, manage, assess needs and determine student assignment in regards to special education programs.

Assist Principal with recruiting, interviewing and onboarding new campus staff members.

Develop and implement transition planning and services/Indicator 13.

Maintain IEP database and student file scan database.

Conduct and ensure completion of state testing.

Prepare and attend students’ IEP meetings, assure documentation is accurately completed prior to the meeting and provide ongoing monitoring to ensure ISBE compliance of students’ IEPs.

Plan and implement staff and parent education relating to special education programs.

Maintain close working relationship with school district, parents and community.

Provide and monitor crisis intervention at the school.

Organize, plan and deliver training for professional development and staff meetings.

Actively participate in Education Committee meetings and relay information to the resource team.

Qualifications

Current SPED Teaching license.

Experience working with similar population in a school setting preferred.

Experience working with staff in a coaching capacity.

Strong professional communication skills both oral and written.

Ability to record and analyze data utilizing Excel and Google Drive.

Posted Salary Range USD $45,000.00 – USD $55,000.00 per year.
