Position Summary
General Facilities Maintenance Technician
– a role essential for maintaining operational integrity and efficiency of food equipment in Walmart stores, contributing to overall store performance and customer satisfaction.
What you’ll do: execute routine maintenance tasks to uphold the safety, functionality, and aesthetics of Walmart Stores, equipment, or fixtures. Operating under the supervision of the local General Maintenance Manager, you’ll adhere to established maintenance schedules and guidelines, conducting inspections, cleaning, and repairs.
Key Responsibilities
Maintain and repair Walmart facilities, equipment, and assets using plumbing, electrical, carpentry, material handling equipment, and food equipment skills with hand and power tools.
Utilize the work order management system to receive reactive repair Work Orders, support Stores and Store associates, and document repair activities.
Provide prompt response to emergency maintenance calls.
Inspect, operate, or test facilities, equipment, or fixtures to diagnose issues.
Complete all required training to operate equipment and tools safely.

Preventative Maintenance – developing and adhering to maintenance schedules.
Training – capability to train Store Associates on equipment care and cleaning.
Documentation – managing work orders and maintenance logs.

Food Equipment: Combi ovens, deli slicers, auto meat cutters, fryers, hot cases, ice makers, pizza ovens, rotisserie ovens, thermoglazers, donut cases, four bowl warmers, bakery ovens, bread slicers, tortilla makers.
Grease and Oil Systems: Oil/water separators, used cooking oil tanks.

Efficiency – reduced maintenance and repair expenses through effective preventive maintenance and timely repairs.
Safety – ensured safety and proper functionality of all serviced equipment.
Training – Store Associates well trained in equipment care and cleaning, reducing misuse and damage.
Documentation – accurate and timely completion of work orders and maintenance logs.
Customer Satisfaction – high levels of customer service and operational efficiency in Walmart stores.
Food Safety – understanding and limiting the risk of cross-contamination in food production areas.
Minimum Qualifications
18 years or older
High School Diploma or equivalent
Can lift up to 50 lbs. at a time
Can move up and down ladders frequently
Comfortable working at heights frequently
Ability to sit or stand for long periods of time
Able to work in various temperatures
Hold a valid state‑issued driver’s license with a clean driving record and ability to pass a Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) report
Vocational or Technical certification and 1 year of experience, or 2 years total work experience, in plumbing, electrical, material handling equipment, or related trade
Vocational or Technical certification and 3 years’ experience in plumbing, electrical, material handling equipment, or related trade
Valid Driver's License
Eligible for a Commercial Driver's License (CDL) (Preferred)
Preferred Qualifications
Completion of a 2‑year Vocational or Technical trade program
License in related trade in city and/or state where job is located
Proficiency in intermediate‑level functionality of word processing, spreadsheet, email, and presentation software (e.g., Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint)
