Job Summary Presbyterian Health is hiring a skilled RN to provide direct patient care to an assigned group of patients in an outpatient clinic. Responsibilities include preparing the patient for the visit, maintaining efficient patient flow, assisting the provider with treatments and procedures, administering medication, and supporting clerical functions such as scheduling, referrals, authorization, and in‑basket support with electronic medical records.
Responsibilities
Provides direct patient care by assessing, planning, implementing, evaluating, and documenting individual patient needs, actions taken, and patient responses.
May cover other areas of clinic based on need, triage, Mini Infusion, Main infusion.
May cover for our Kaseman location or Rust location either by direct patient care or indirect via telephone triage.
Coordinates patient care through collaboration with the patient/family and healthcare team.
Provides supportive care and education to patients and their families, including referrals and bereavement counseling.
Initiates, utilizes, and documents appropriate protocols and standards of care.
Administers chemotherapy medication and other oncology treatments as prescribed by physician, or standard protocols, and documents according to policy.
Identifies and meets patient and family learning and discharge needs on admission and throughout episode of care.
Evaluates patient progression toward outcomes per unit standards and documents through EOSS etc.
Performs competently in emergency situations.
Perform other duties as required.
Qualifications
Registered Nurse (RN) – State of New Mexico or Compact State Nursing License required.
Associate degree in nursing.
BLS Certification required at time of hire.
2 years hospital medical surgical, CCU or ICU nursing experience preferred.
