MRI Tech - PRN Weekends

Employment Type:
Part‑time (PRN)
Shift Schedule: 12‑hour day shifts (6:30 a.m. – 6:30 p.m.), 3 shifts per 7‑week cycle. Schedules are made one month in advance and candidates may orient on weekends or during the week.
Job Summary Perform Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) procedures to produce three‑dimensional images used by radiologists for diagnosis and treatment. Work in a team‑oriented environment that prioritizes safety, quality, and professional development.
Responsibilities
Prepare patients for MRI examinations, explain the procedure, and administer contrast when necessary.
Position patients on the MRI scanner, select appropriate imaging techniques, and ensure technical quality of the scan.
Enter and monitor patient data, perform quality assurance on equipment, and assist with ACR accreditation applications.
Identify and report accidents, complaints, or equipment malfunctions to department management.
Respond to emergency calls within the department.
Adhere to all Memorial Hermann policies, procedures, and standards, including time management, supply management, and productivity.
Promote professional growth by meeting mandatory education and competency requirements; serve as preceptor, mentor, and resource to less experienced staff.
Demonstrate commitment to caring for every member of the community by providing compassionate, personalized experiences.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
Graduate of an accredited school of Radiologic Technology.
One year of MRI experience.
Certified in Basic or Advanced Life Support.
Registered MRI Technologist by ARRT‑MR or ARMRIT.
Ability to lift and maneuver patients, possibly with assistance.
