Job Summary & Qualifications As a Radiology Technologist Lead, you will operate standard, portable, and specialized X‑ray equipment to perform routine and semi‑complex radiographic examinations. Your responsibilities include leading the Radiology Department, ensuring quality of work, coordinating workflow, and upholding imaging standards for patient satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities

Lead and oversee the Radiology Department to ensure quality work.

Coordinate and prioritize department workflow to ensure completion of assignments.

Develop and process films and transmit them to Radiologists for interpretation.

Be accountable for all Imaging Department functions and responsibilities.

Contribute to effective management and continuous improvement of the Radiology Department.

Perform diagnostic radiographic procedures, including ER, surgical, fluoroscopic and portable radiographs.

Interpret and implement referring physician orders.

Practice safe radiation protection following hospital guidelines.

Assist physicians and radiologists in procedures requiring sterile technique.

Prepare patients for procedures using sterile technique.

Prepare and administer radiopaque contrast media needed for examinations.

Select contrast media according to radiologist preference.

Experience

Two years’ experience as a Radiologic Technologist in an acute care setting.

Experience in Diagnostic Radiology, including procedures in OR, ICU, NICU, ED, Radiology and portable imaging.

Education

Graduate of an educational program in Radiology accredited by the Joint Review Committee on Education in Radiologic Technology (JRCERT) or an American Medical Association approved program.

Licenses and Certifications

Current Medical Radiologic Technologist (MRT) certification with Texas Medical Board (TMB).

Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification per St. David’s Healthcare policy.

Certified in Radiology by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT).
