Job Description
Provide psychotherapy, counselling, and support to individuals and groups dealing with emotional, behavioural, and social challenges at DOS/DOD facilities in Iraq.
Conduct comprehensive assessments and diagnoses of mental health disorders and emotional issues using clinical interviews, observations, and standardized assessment tools.
Provide evidence‑based therapeutic interventions tailored to clients’ needs, including individual, family, and group therapy.
Respond to and manage acute crises, providing immediate support and intervention as needed.
Educate clients and families about mental health issues, treatment options, and available resources.
Collaborate with healthcare providers, including psychiatrists, psychologists, nurses, and other professionals, to develop and implement comprehensive treatment plans.
Maintain accurate and confidential client records, including treatment plans, progress notes, and compliance with ethical and legal standards.
Engage in community service and outreach to promote awareness of mental health issues and available services.
Comply with required organizational education for Joint Commission Healthcare Staffing Services certification or other regulatory bodies.
Qualifications Basic Requirements / Certifications
Current, full, active, and unrestricted Clinical Social Worker License.
Certified in Basic Life Support (BLS).
At least 3 years of recent experience, including at least six months out of the past year.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications and Electronic Medical Records (EMR).
Experience on a military site as a government subcontractor or prime contractor is preferred.
Education Required
Master’s degree in social work (MSW) from an accredited program.
Physical Requirements
Must meet pre‑deployment physical requirements.
Work involves sitting and standing for prolonged periods of time.
May require bending, stooping, and lifting up to 25 lbs.
Other Special Qualifications
US Citizen or Permanent Resident Card required.
Valid US Passport with at least 18 months before expiration date; must maintain a current passport during stay in Iraq.
Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government security clearance, specifically MRPT; current clearances are preferred.
Must be able to relocate to Iraq for the duration of the project.
Must be able to read, write, and speak English to effectively communicate.
