Live On Nebraska is looking for a Tissue Procurement Coordinator to help us give the most precious gift of all—life. If you geek out for Anatomy Lab days and thrive in a fast-paced environment, you may be the candidate we’re looking for.
This on-site position requires the candidate to reside within 45 minutes of Omaha and includes a rotating on-call schedule covering nights, weekends, and holidays.
Job Responsibilities
Coordinate, facilitate, and perform surgical recovery of tissues from deceased donors.
Gather and accurately assess patient medical records and donor risk assessments to determine suitability.
Accurately complete the donor electronic record.
Perform case oversight including charting, delegation of duties, and communication with internal and external partners.
Provide ethical and sensitive treatment to each donor.
Experience
Proficiency with sterile technique.
Advanced knowledge of human anatomy.
Experience with tissue recovery preferred.
Effective communication with coroners, funeral homes, families, hospitals, and other internal departments.
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree focused on anatomy (e.g., health sciences or nursing) preferred, or a minimum of four years equivalent training and experience required.
Ability to obtain and maintain a Certified Tissue Banking Specialist Certification (CTBS).
A valid driver’s license and personal auto insurance with the ability to travel by vehicle.
Ability to maintain professional relationships and effective communication with internal and external partners.
