Job Summary Under the guidance of the VP of Revenue Cycle Management, the coordinator independently audits and evaluates the Health System revenue cycle related workflows, identifies problem areas, provides solutions, and assists in the implementation of workflow improvements to assure an effective revenue cycle process. The coordinator also maintains the hospital charge master, participates in the Hospital Pricing Committee, provides recommendations for changes, and coordinates implementation of new or revised charges.
Location & Schedule Riedman Campus (Rochester, NY). Full‑time, Monday to Friday, 8 am – 4:30 pm.
Responsibilities
Maintain an accurate and complete hospital charge master ensuring competitive pricing, appropriate reimbursement, and compliance with governmental billing regulations.
Manage department charge master reviews, coordinate updates, and document recommendations.
Complete charge master reviews with head approval, coordinate effective dates, rebilling/crediting services, and report compliance issues.
Develop and update charge master policies and procedures.
Perform audits and provide education to clinical departments on charge master compliance.
Coordinate and monitor new charge requests, research pricing, and obtain final approvals.
Identify and monitor quarterly/annual HCPCS and APC changes.
Monitor weekly department charge entry lag report and work toward a 1‑2 day entry target.
Identify and report revenue cycle opportunities to the Revenue Cycle Director.
Analyze audit results and recommend optimizations to revenue cycle functions.
Manage follow‑up activities to keep initiatives moving forward.
Support financial and administrative oversight of managed care contracts with commercial payers.
Support contracting activities, including preparation for negotiation, implementation, and reimbursement performance analysis.
Lead or participate in project teams designed to improve revenue cycle.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Business, Accounting, Health Information, or a related health care field.
Proficient in Excel for data analysis, reporting, and visualization.
Strong data interpretation skills, trend identification, and data‑driven decision making.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills for interacting with internal teams and stakeholders.
Familiarity with Epic EHR management and workflows.
Background in the healthcare industry with understanding of medical terminology, CPT/ICD codes, insurance claims, and billing procedures.
Healthcare experience preferred.
Physical Requirements Sedentary work, occasional walking or standing for brief periods, up to 10 pounds of force occasionally.
Compensation Base pay range $62,400 – $71,500 per year.
